PASAJ @ Open Studio Days

Open Studio Days is an independent non-profit organization that has been running since 2014. Founded and run by Juliane Saupe and Deniz Beşer, the program aims to explore artist workshops and alternative art spaces in Beyoğlu, Taksim, Cihangir, Galata, Karaköy, Tophane, Teşvikiye and Kadıköy. The artistic practice of Giorgio Caione and Seçil Yaylalı, the way PASAJ works and their projects to be realized will be shared at the event, in which PASAJ will also participate.

During the open studio days, Secil Yaylalı, Giorgio Caione and guest artist Jesse Gagliardi will present their works, while Ayca Ceylan's interactive performance will continue at PASAJ Tarlabaşı. Secil Yaylali(Co-founder of PASAJ) will exhibit a part of the project he created during the 6-week artist residency program in Aarhus (Denmark) this summer.
During the open studio days, Secil Yaylalı, Giorgio Caione and guest artist Jesse Gagliardi will present their works, while Ayca Ceylan's interactive performance will continue at PASAJ Tarlabaşı. Secil Yaylali(Co-founder of PASAJ) will exhibit a part of the project he created during the 6-week artist residency program in Aarhus (Denmark) this summer. Giorgio CaioneHe will be showing photographs of his latest works in Turkey and Denmark. Italian artist living in IstanbulJesse Gagliardiwill present a section from his solo show “Family Portraits” that he has been working on. The artist adds new meanings to the found photographs by reprinting, and it is up to the audience to make a new story out of it. Ayca Gazelleon the other hand, produces an interactive performance for PASAJ Tarlabaşı and aims to turn this performance into a dialogue in which the audience will participate and process their own stories on fabric surfaces.
On the occasion of Open Studio Days PASAJ-Independent Art Space hosts recent works of Secil Yaylali, Giorgio Caione and - special guest - Jesse Gagliardi and in PASAJ Tarlabaşı Ayça Ceylan will show her ongoing interactive project. _cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Secil Yaylali(PASAJ co-founder) exhibits her last participatory art project realized in Aarhus, Denmark. During almost 2 months of residence she created, in collaboration with citizens of Gellerup, a new cultural alphabet of the neighborhood. Giorgio Caione(curator and photographer) shows some recent photo projects realized in Turkey and Denmark. Jesse Gagliardiis an Italian artist based in Istanbul. He is currently working on a big solo show about "family portraits". He exhibits a work in progress: a "re-print" of an old photograph found in Galata. Jesse gave the old unknown photo a new life, but the meaning is still oscure. It will up to audience to provide a new story... Ayca Ceylanis producing an interactive performance for PASAJ Tarlabaşı. She aims to make a dialogue through the participation of the audience within their personal stories to the fabric surfaces.
