This project aims to question the concept of “museum” which is one of the fundamental issues that contemporary art focuses on. It is actually built upon the transformation of the crisis between the function of Museum (architecture) and the function of Art (visual object). In 1968, Christo intended to wrap the whole building of New York Modern Art Museum in this way, he wanted to transform the physical and functional space of the museum temporarily but in a radical way. The proposal which was quite ironic in the sense that it reversed the conventional relationship between the museum and the art object; in other words, the “envelope” and the “enclosed” is again reversed with the “Museum of Museums” project.
