“Beyoğlu Sound, the Sound installation will be realized in PASAJist, listening to Beyoğlu, eyes shut. The sound is the sound of Beyoğlu. I’m taping, I collect sounds. The street’s sounds while walking in Beyoğlu, music from shops, the concerts I went, the sound of the tramway, our improvisations, voices of people, simits’ chestnuts, lottery sellers, the music of street musicians, the sounds of the events I realized at PASAJİst….” Banu Taylan is an illustrator and a sound artist based in Istanbul. She works on different formats of drawing and sound combinations. She uses them as a tool to communicate and share with society. Taylan, who also does a radio program at RadioFil called “Hayal Tutacakları” informs that she started recording and playing with the tones when she realized that she was walking in the street, gabbling over. Artist, in this project, sets off with the sounds she collects in Beyoğlu.
